Singer Mai Patcharee Halts Phetchabun Concert Over Unpaid Balance

Thai molam singer Mai Patcharee halted her concert in Phetchabun after the organizer, influencer 'Uncle Tony', behaved inappropriately on stage and failed to pay the full 400,000 baht fee, leaving a 160,000 baht balance. The singer's manager confirmed the incident was not staged, and the show resumed only after the organizer paid the outstanding amount in full. The crew emphasized the importance of receiving agreed-upon wages for their livelihood.

Mai Patcharee explains the drama at her Phetchabun concert after the organizer behaved inappropriately on stage, confirms she eventually received full payment, and apologizes to fans. On November 6, 2026, following a concert by molam singer Mai Patcharee in Nangua subdistrict, Phetchabun province, hired by famous influencer 'Uncle Tony' with normal ticket sales, clips surfaced showing the organizer going on stage and the singer announcing she would stop the show mid-performance, raising questions. Manager Lakshika Kenharat (Tuktik Noi) stated the organizer's inappropriate on-stage behavior toward the singer was never discussed or agreed upon, as Mai Patcharee did not know the organizer personally, causing great disappointment, though she tried to manage the situation to avoid affecting fans. The 400,000 baht fee was agreed upon because the host extended the performance from the usual five hours to six (8 PM to 2 AM) and covered all crew food and drinks. The normal rate for a 90-minute show is 250,000 baht; a five-hour show runs 300,000–330,000 baht, so the 400,000 baht fee matched the agreement. The singer stopped the show because 160,000 baht remained unpaid; the organizer had promised to pay later but had not done so by 1 AM, prompting the halt. After full payment was made, the band resumed and finished the concert. The crew needed payment that day because they had another show in Khlong Khlung, Kamphaeng Phet, and could not return to collect later. While waiting, a man insulted the crew, calling 160,000 baht a trivial sum, which deeply upset them. They stressed the incident was not staged for content and asked for respect for the artist and crew.

Thailand EV Sales Forecast to Top 210,000 in 2026

Kasikorn Research Center forecasts Thailand's BEV sales will exceed 210,000 units in 2026, a 71% year-on-year jump, driven by a rush of imports ahead of a new 35% excise tax on imported BEVs taking effect January 2027 and China's cut to VAT rebates for NEV exports. The tax changes are expected to accelerate imports in late 2026 as consumers and dealers stock up before prices rise an estimated 25%. The impact will vary: pure importers face the biggest challenge, brands with local production gain competitive advantage, and those with partial local investment await clarity on import quotas.
