Police arrested Nattakij, 32, following a shooting at the Chim Shop Use festival held near Pho Khun Thot Field in Dan Khun Thot District, Nakhon Ratchasima on August 13, 2025. Six people were injured in the incident. Officers from Dan Khun Thot Police Station are continuing to interview the suspect, victims, and witnesses while analyzing forensic evidence and investigating the escape route to apprehend remaining suspects.
During interrogation, Nattakij admitted to firing a real weapon, stating the shooting arose from a quarrel with the event organizers. He alleged he was accused of motorcycle theft and said he fired to help a friend who was being attacked. Police have charged him with attempted murder using a firearm, with additional charges pending further evidence review.
CCTV footage from the area captured only two gunshots and voices of people shouting, as the camera's range did not fully cover the shooting location. One injured person remains in a coma but is out of critical condition, while another is scheduled for surgery. Police will continue interviewing victims at Maharaj Nakhon Ratchasima Hospital.
