Man Shoots Friend Over Girlfriend Suspicion in Nakhon Si Thammarat
A 22-year-old man was shot multiple times in Nakhon Si Thammarat after confronting his friend over suspected involvement with his girlfriend; the shooter surrendered to police with the 9mm pistol used in the attack.
At 00:30 on September 28, 2025, Sub-Lieutenant Apisit Phonsai, investigation officer at Muang Police Station, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, received a report of a shooting at a house on Thung Chin Soi in Phi Sedet Sub-district, Muang District. One person was seriously wounded. Officers from Prachachuai Foundation rushed to provide assistance.
The victim was identified as Somchai (surname withheld), 22 years old, who was shot multiple times in the torso with a 9mm pistol. Foundation staff transported him to Maharaj Nakhon Si Thammarat Hospital for medical care. Eleven 9mm shell casings were recovered from the scene and collected as evidence.
Investigation revealed the shooter was Nanthawooti (surname withheld), 27 years old, residing on Thuat Thong Soi in Phi Sedet Sub-district, Muang District. He is a close friend of the victim. After the incident, Nanthawooti surrendered to police with the firearm used in the shooting and admitted to firing at Somchai.
According to preliminary findings, Somchai had called Nanthawooti to his house to confront him about suspected involvement with his girlfriend, which led to an argument. When Somchai slapped Nanthawooti once, the latter became furious and fired his concealed 9mm pistol at Somchai, emptying all 11 rounds and causing serious injury.
Officers documented the crime scene with photographs and maps. Nanthawooti was booked on preliminary charges of attempted murder. He confessed to the allegations and was transferred to investigation officers at Muang Police Station for further legal proceedings.
