The Stock Exchange of Thailand and the Thai Capital Market Business Federation, along with the Thai government delegation, conducted capital market roadshows in New York and London from September 22-25, 2025, as part of Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul's participation in the 81st United Nations General Assembly. The delegation presented Thailand's economic policy direction and investment opportunities to 43 global institutional funds with combined assets under management of over 48 trillion US dollars, with nearly all senior fund managers in attendance.
The Thai delegation included Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sihasak Puangketkaseam, Deputy Prime Minister and Commerce Minister Supachee Suthummaphand, Digital Economy and Society Minister Chaichanok Chidchob, and Public Health Minister Pattana Prom-petch, who met directly with investors to exchange information.
Stock Exchange of Thailand President Asadej Kongsiri revealed that New York investors emphasized Thailand's neutrality amid geopolitical volatility as an opportunity to attract investment from multiple countries, while also inquiring about Middle East tensions' impact on energy prices and economic growth. Prime Minister Anutin outlined plans to reduce energy import dependence through renewable energy transition, smart grid investment, and initiatives like JUMP+ and BOI to IPO to bring new economy businesses to the Thai capital market.
At the London meetings, British institutional investors prioritized political stability and new investment cycle momentum, reflected in record-high BOI investment promotion applications. Thailand emphasized investment quality over quantity, with investors stressing the importance of policy continuity and concrete implementation.
Felix Pulalin, chairman of the Thai Capital Market Business Federation, noted that foreign capital has flowed back into the Thai stock market at approximately 1,500 million US dollars since early 2025, representing 10% of the 15,000 million US dollars that exited over the past three years. He highlighted senior fund managers' personal attendance in New York as a significant signal of interest in the Thai capital market. Investor questions covered policy clarity, implementation challenges, and financial stability and baht stability, which the Prime Minister and delegation addressed.
In New York, the Stock Exchange collaborated with Bank of America to invite institutional investors, holding group meetings with 22 leading funds including BlackRock, Blackstone, Citadel, Fidelity, and Schroders, with combined AUM of approximately 45 trillion US dollars.
