Thai PM Pitches Investment Opportunity to Global Finance Firms
PM Anutin pitched Thailand's investment potential to U.S. and global investors in New York, highlighting the country's manufacturing base, AI infrastructure capabilities, and strong economic fundamentals to attract high-value business opera
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul and Minister of Interior met with leading U.S. fund investors and global financial firm Jefferies Group LLC on September 24 at Lever House in New York. Jefferies provides capital markets, securities trading, and asset management services with a global network connecting investors to international investment opportunities.
The Prime Minister invited investors to establish operations in Thailand, citing new opportunities and a stable economy. He highlighted Thailand's established manufacturing base, industrial clusters, transport systems, and supplier networks serving global customers, which allow businesses to use Thailand as a Southeast Asian hub while accessing regional markets. Thailand also participates in the growing global infrastructure supply chain for artificial intelligence, data storage, fast data transmission, stable electricity systems, and digital service infrastructure—creating significant opportunities to attract high-value economic activities.
The PM noted Thailand's economic stability is supported by strong foreign reserves, public debt within legal limits, and fiscal space to handle external changes. In the first half of the year, foreign investment promotion applications reached 1.37 trillion baht, up 80 percent year-on-year, demonstrating business interest and Thailand's readiness to receive investment.
The government welcomes data center investment while reviewing criteria to balance economic benefits with energy and water resource impacts. The PM emphasized government's role in converting investment opportunities into real business for sustainable growth, while remaining open to investors' views on the greatest opportunities and concerns.
