Prime Minister Anuthin Charnweerakul has expressed delight at 16-year-old singer Nene Royal—whose real name is Rattikant Amloy and who hails from Phuket—winning America's Got Talent Season 21. Speaking from New York on September 25, the PM said he was thrilled by the news and confident all Thai people shared in the celebration, adding that the government thanks Nene for bringing joy and encouragement to the nation.
The PM noted that while he was conducting official business in New York, Nene was competing in Los Angeles, and his entire delegation felt excited and proud to support her. He emphasized that every time the word "Thailand" is spoken around the world during her performances, it strengthens the nation's global standing. "If the word Thailand were spoken a million times, I believe it would take our country far," he said.
