Historic First: 'Royal Thai Dress: From Tradition to the World' Exhibition Now Open in Paris
Thailand's royal dress heritage takes center stage at Paris's Musée des Arts Décoratifs in a landmark exhibition featuring over 200 designers' work, celebrating 170 years of Thai-French diplomatic ties.
A historic first! The exhibition 'La Mode en Majeste: Royal Thai Dress from Tradition to Modernity' has opened at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France. The exhibition is held under the patronage of Princess Sirivannavari Nariruattana, marking the 170th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations between Thailand and France. Organized through collaboration between the Promotion of Arts and Crafts Institute, the Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles, the Royal Thai Embassy in Paris, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, the exhibition presents the beauty of Thai cultural heritage through royal regalia, vintage textiles, fine handicrafts, and contemporary works by over 200 Thai designers. Displayed across seven exhibition rooms, the pieces demonstrate the role of clothing as a medium for cultural and diplomatic exchange between Thailand and France. The exhibition is open to the public from today through November 1, 2026 at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France.
