Interior Minister Orders Probe into Thamdee Foundation Amid Donation Complaints
Interior Minister Pol. Gen. Phonpipat Suwanchawee has ordered a broad investigation into the Thamdee Foundation and other charitable organizations following public complaints about financial transparency. The probe includes scrutiny of land ownership linked to the foundation, with the Land Department verifying whether a third party purchased the property. The minister pledged to review outdated regulations to improve accountability for donated funds.
Interior Minister Pol. Gen. Phonpipat Suwanchawee told reporters in Udon Thani on November 3 that the Department of Provincial Administration and related agencies are investigating the Thamdee Foundation of social media influencer Panadda "Boom" Wongphudee following public complaints. The probe will extend to other foundations that have drawn similar complaints, with results expected by November 4. Authorities are also checking whether the land where the foundation operates was bought by Kan Jomphang, a figure mentioned in media reports; the Land Department is reviewing ownership records. The minister agreed that foundations should be transparent about donated funds and suggested outdated laws governing foundations and associations may need updating to ensure accountability. He emphasized that no organization would be exempt from scrutiny.
