Justice Minister Raids Bangkok Chabad Foundation at Three Sites
Thai justice and interior ministers led a raid with nine agencies on three Chabad Foundation locations in Bangkok, seeking evidence of nominee links to Israeli business networks. No documents were found at the sites, and officials suspect records are kept elsewhere, such as an office on Sukhumvit Soi 22. A statement will be issued this afternoon at the Justice Ministry.
The joint operation involved the Department of Special Investigation, the Interior Ministry, the Provincial Administration, and police. Justice Minister Rutthaphon said the raid targeted three sites associated with the Chabad Foundation, but no documents were found on site; officials suspect records are kept elsewhere, possibly at an office on Sukhumvit Soi 22. Deputy Interior Minister Phonphir said the action follows similar checks in Phuket and Chachoengsao, and that the foundation’s Rabbi Yosef Chaim Kantor cooperated, noting the building has five floors with a restaurant on the ground floor. A joint press conference is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Justice Ministry to release the findings.
