Kintone Thailand Targets 1,000 Customers by 2028 with AI Push
Kintone Thailand aims to have 1,000 corporate customers in Thailand by 2028 and will more than double its local team to about 15 staff while launching AI Agents to help SMEs digitize without IT support. The company says its Thai customer base grew over 140% last year, making Thailand one of Cybozu Inc's fastest‑growing markets. It plans to use AI features like real‑time translation and executive summarisation, with data processed only on‑premise to address security concerns.
Kintone Thailand, a subsidiary of Japan's Cybozu Inc, announced a goal to expand its corporate customer base in Thailand to 1,000 by the end of 2028, while also expanding its domestic team to aggressively pursue the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) market. The company plans to deploy AI Agents to help organizations lacking IT teams digitize their workflows independently, without relying on external staff. This growth plan follows strong performance last year, when the Thai customer base surged by 140% year-on-year, making Thailand one of Cybozu Inc's fastest-growing markets. Cybozu Inc has been operating in Thailand for over a decade, introducing Kintone in 2015, establishing a Thailand office in 2020, and upgrading it to a full subsidiary in 2024 after seeing further market expansion opportunities. Currently, the client base is roughly split between Thai and Japanese companies, and the rising popularity has driven this year's Thai customer growth above 140% compared to last year, among the highest growth rates across all countries where Cybozu Inc operates.
Namyaayuayu Wayupheet, Managing Director of Kintone Thailand, said that Kintone has spent over a decade building trust, which is a key driver of the company's growth. "We did not arrive with a product and then look for a market; we spent several years understanding how Thai businesses operate before setting up a branch office in Thailand. Laying the groundwork from the start gives us confidence that our next goal of expanding the corporate customer base to 1,000 is achievable."
He added that Kintone Thailand intends to more than double its domestic workforce, aiming for around 15 employees by year‑end to support after‑sales service and to deepen cooperation with local business partners.
AI as the cornerstone of new growth. The key mechanism to achieve the 2028 target is the development of AI Agents to support workplace automation within organizations. Planned features include a real‑time translation system that supports Thai, English, Japanese and Chinese, as well as executive report summarization. These tools are designed to bridge the gap for SMEs, enabling them to operate without relying on an IT department. At the same time, the system is built with data security in mind: the AI will only process data stored within the organization's own database, preventing confidential information from leaking outside—a major concern that makes many SMEs hesitant to adopt AI.
Yoshihisa Aono, CEO of Cybozu Inc, added that Thailand possesses a highly skilled workforce capable of leveraging technology. If organizations can structure their work to fully draw on that talent, Thailand can create enormous growth opportunities.
Thailand's market growth is part of Cybozu Inc's regional expansion strategy. In March 2026, Cybozu Inc announced that Southeast Asia would be a key region for overseas investment, singling out Thailand as one of the markets with the highest potential. This direction is reflected in the company's performance: for the first half of 2026, ending June 30, Cybozu Inc reported total revenues of approximately US$130 million, up 16.1% year‑on‑year.
