Leapmotor Discusses Thai EV Factory Plans with BOI
Leapmotor executives met with Thailand's BOI to discuss building an EV manufacturing plant, advancing the company's plan to make Thailand
Leapmotor Thailand executives met with the Secretary-General of the Board of Investment (BOI) to discuss plans for establishing a vehicle manufacturing plant in Thailand, reinforcing the company's "Here For Thailand. Here to Stay" vision. Deputy Chairman and CFO Li Thienfey, along with Leapmotor Thailand General Manager Liam Liu, met with BOI Secretary-General Narit Therdsteerasukdi to exchange views on developing Thailand's New Energy Vehicle (NEV) industry, explore future cooperation opportunities, and push for concrete localization progress. The meeting underscores Leapmotor's commitment to putting down roots and growing long-term with Thai society, while closely monitoring Thai market needs and delivering smarter, higher-quality mobility experiences to Thai consumers. This discussion follows the rapid progress since the official launch of the Leapmotor B03X smart SUV EV under the "Young Style, More Smile" concept on October 30, 2026, which brought fresh energy to Thailand's EV market and featured brand ambassador Om Kornnaphat to convey a vibrant, youthful brand image. At that launch event, Leapmotor announced its long-term business direction and investment plans, notably the concept of establishing a manufacturing plant to make Thailand a hub for expanding into right-hand drive markets across the region, coupled with commitments to develop business with local partners, expand networks, and enhance comprehensive after-sales service. The BOI meeting reflects another important step in implementing those announced plans promptly and concretely.
