His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen led a grand royal barge procession of 52 vessels along the Chao Phraya River to present Kathin robes at Wat Arun, marking the Queen's 4th cycle birthday anniversary. The 3.9-kilometer procession involved 2,200 naval personnel and featured the historic Royal Barge Suphannahong, with senior government officials including the Prime Minister receiving the royal party at Wasukri Pier.
At 3:35 PM on November 6, 2026, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen proceeded by royal barge procession to present Kathin robes at Wat Arun Ratchawararam Ratchawaramahawihan, marking the auspicious occasion of the Queen's 4th cycle birthday anniversary on June 3, 2026. Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana Rajakanya, Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti, and Khun Phra Sineenat Bilaskalayani also participated in the procession.
Upon arrival at Wasukri Pier, Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, House Speaker Sophon Sarin, and Supreme Court President Veerapong Suda-wong received the royal party before they proceeded to the Royal Barge Suphannahong docking bridge. His Majesty granted a royal audience to Admiral Narong Wongtrakool, Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Thai Navy and commander of the royal barge procession, who reported the number of vessels and personnel.
The royal barge procession formation comprised 52 royal barges arranged in five rows, measuring 1,280 meters long and 90 meters wide, with 2,200 naval personnel. His Majesty and Her Majesty then boarded the Royal Barge Suphannahong, while the Princess and Prince boarded the Royal Barge Anantanakkharat, accompanied by Khun Phra Sineenat.
His Majesty commanded Vice Admiral Thungngen Chongrakchop, captain of the Royal Barge Suphannahong, to report the 67 oarsmen aboard. Captain Komson Silong, helmsman of the Royal Barge Suphannahong, requested royal permission to maneuver the procession and bring the barge to the dock in front of Wat Arun's ordination hall. Air Chief Marshal Sitthipong Sukwimol, Royal Palace Secretary, received the royal command to signal the royal barge to proceed to the Wat Arun dock.
At 3:43 PM, the Royal Barge Suphannahong departed Wasukri Pier to join the formation, and the 52-vessel procession began its journey along the Chao Phraya River from Wasukri Pier to the dock in front of Wat Arun's ordination hall, covering approximately 3.9 kilometers. Four magnificent royal barges floated mid-river on Thailand's principal waterway, led by the Royal Barge Suphannahong — the current version built late in King Rama V's reign to replace the original from King Rama I's era, completed in King Rama VI's reign for ceremonial use.
