A-List Graduates Present 7 Community Projects Under 'Nothing Is Worthless'
The first cohort of the King Prajadhipok Institute’s A-List Citizen Leadership Program presented seven community‑focused projects under the theme ‘Nothing Is Worthless’ at a recent ceremony in Bangkok. The projects ranged from turning agricultural waste into soil additives and adding value to local shallots, to creating youth income programs and reducing oyster‑shell waste. Participants collaborated with local communities, businesses, and government bodies across several provinces to turn overlooked resources into social value.
The A-List Citizen Leadership Program (Certificate in Modern Citizen Leadership) Batch 1, under the concept 'Nothing Is Worthless,' showcased seven projects that turn neglected items into community value in Bangkok. The King Prajadhipok Institute's Batch 1 held a presentation and graduation ceremony in the Lavender Rooms 1-3 on the third floor of TK Palace Hotel, Chaeng Watthana, recently. Each of the seven participant groups presented social development projects carried out in the field together with communities, community enterprises, government agencies, educational institutions, and private companies in several provinces. The event was held under the 'Nothing Is Worthless – No Thing Is Worthless' concept, reflecting the program's belief that genuine change arises from integrating the strengths of all sectors—whether people's abilities, local resources, or discarded materials—to create new value for society.
Group Naphak: Elevating GI Shallots from Sisaket to health products – developing 100% GI shallots into scented shallot balm and oil under the brand 'Choum Khem Khaeng'.
Group Gomon: Corn-Verse transforms agricultural waste into soil amendment – cutting planting costs by about 50%, reducing fermentation time by over 50%, and winning a Gold Medal at Taiwan Innotech Expo 2026 and a Special Prize (On Stage) from INNOPA in the Republic of Indonesia.
Group Amethyst: 'Money-Making Classroom' / DuMonZ – creates a safe space for youth to learn, develop skills, work, and earn real income through the D-M-M Engine.
Group Jade: 'Full to Home' – cares for 12 low-income dependent households, totaling 40 people, and registers as a social enterprise group, number 275.
Group Vibranium: Bus-Zap to the Core – links tourism and travel through Khon Kaen's food culture via a food‑tourism guide and LINE Official features for Khon Kaen City Bus.
Group Emerald: 'Na Indin Dee – Turning Leftovers into Value, Developing Social Enterprises' – develops the Model 6A prototype for social enterprise development under the brand 'Nang Ing'.
Group Bussarakam: OysterLoop 'Shell (Oyster) Changing the World' – manages oyster shells through a 3M model (Mass, Marine, Make Craft) in a 60:30:10 ratio, reducing shell volume by about 70%, roughly 7 tonnes per month.
The background and purpose of the Modern Citizen Leadership Certificate (A-List) stem from recognizing that today’s social problems are too complex for any single sector to solve alone. The program likens each participant to a 'shade' with a unique hue; when combined they form a diverse and complete picture, giving rise to the program philosophy 'Anyone can be on the list' – meaning everyone is an important part of building a better society.
The first batch gathered trainees from diverse fields, divided into seven groups named after gemstones: Naphak, Gomon, Amethyst, Jade, Vibranium, Emerald, and Bussarakam. Each group carried out field projects with communities under the 'Upcycling' framework in three aspects: enhancing people's capabilities, increasing the value of local resources and surplus, and transforming agricultural and marine waste.
