Loan Officer Escapes After Alleged Hit-and-Run in Udon Thani
A debt collector in Udon Thani says he was struck by a car from a rival lending gang and nearly hit again when the driver reversed, forcing him to jump onto the sidewalk to escape. He reported the incident to police and provided CCTV footage, identifying the vehicle as linked to the Uthai Table lending group from Uthai Thani. Authorities are investigating the claim and have not yet confirmed the other side’s version of events.
On October 5, 2026, Phanumath Chitsawankul, administrator of the Hia Peek Chuay Duay page, met with reporters after receiving a complaint from Lloyd, a 31-year-old debt collector. Lloyd said that while riding his motorcycle home after dinner, two cars from a Uthai Thani lending gang cut him off; one vehicle struck his bike hard, knocking him down. After he fell, he saw the same car reverse and move toward him again, so he jumped onto the curb to avoid being hit. The car then drove forward, circled back, and left the scene without checking on him. Lloyd recorded the license plate and later identified the vehicle as belonging to the Uthai Table lending group operating in Udon Thani. He acknowledged that he also works in the same lending business and knows the group, and he urged the other party to come forward and talk to resolve the matter peacefully. He has filed a formal complaint with the Mueang Udon Thani Police Station and submitted the evidence to the Facebook page, asking authorities to investigate and provide justice. Police say they are still verifying the claims and awaiting CCTV footage and statements from both sides before drawing conclusions.
