At 10:30 AM on May 25, 2569, at a noodle shop on Ranong Soi 2, Mallika Boonmee-Trakul Mahasuk officially launched her independent campaign for Bangkok Governor, unveiling her policy platform under the 'Forward-Thinking Leader for the City of the Future' campaign. She proposes using AI and innovation to solve Bangkok's problems, including intelligent traffic management systems, AI-powered flood warning systems using radar technology, AI-enabled drone disaster response, PM2.5 reduction strategies, 24-hour CCTV surveillance with improved lighting, SME economic support programs, 24-hour street food initiatives to boost the economy, improved neighborhood healthcare, increased green spaces and cafes enabling remote work throughout all districts.
Mallika emphasized that public health concerns, particularly PM2.5 pollution, motivated her candidacy. She stated that Bangkok must match the modernity and economic competitiveness of other major world cities. Drawing on her background as a politician, media professional, and administrator in both public and private sectors, she expressed confidence in her ability to address the city's numerous challenges through collaboration with Bangkok residents.
When asked about her campaign team, Mallika clarified that she will not be alone, as she has partners aligned with her policies and an active team holding regular meetings. She announced plans to revive District Council members (สข.) through legislative reforms, ensuring district-level representation beyond just Bangkok Metropolitan Council members (สก.). She will also leverage social media and AI to engage with people across all generations and demographics.
