Man Rushed to Hospital After Prank Ring Gets Stuck
A 41-year-old homeless man was rushed to Udon Thani Hospital after a brass ring became stuck around his genitals in a prank, causing severe swelling and cutting off blood circulation.
At 5 p.m. on July 21, 2025, the Rim Phot Thong radio center in Muang Udon Thani district received a report from staff at the Udon Thani Dharma Promotion Foundation about an injured man who came seeking help with a ring stuck around his genitals, causing severe swelling and inflammation. Because it was a holiday and the foundation lacked equipment and personnel, volunteers from the Udon Sawaeng Medha Dharma rescue foundation were called to assist. Upon arrival, they found the injured man, identified as Chok, 41, with a brass ring (size 60-62) tightly constricting the base of his genitals, causing the tip to swell because blood flow was cut off. Rescue personnel immediately transported him by ambulance to Udon Thani Hospital to have the ring cut off and treat the wound to prevent infection. Chok explained that he is homeless and sleeps at Udon Thani Bus Station No. 1 in the Udon Thani municipality. He said that while sleeping, a friend placed the ring on his genitals as a prank, and he was unable to remove it. His genitals became swollen and painful, forcing him to seek help at the foundation. Panya Koona, 28, a staff member at the Dharma Promotion Foundation, recounted that the injured man came to the foundation complaining of genital pain. Upon examination, staff found the brass ring tightly constricting the base of his genitals, causing swelling. It was believed the ring had been placed while the genitals were flaccid, but it had become so tight that blood circulation was impaired, leading to severe swelling and making it impossible to remove. Foundation staff then contacted the radio center to arrange transport to Udon Thani Hospital.
