On July 21, 2026, Radkela Intawong Suwannakiri, a Democrat Party list member and deputy party leader, posted on Facebook that Paiśal Ruangrit, a lawyer and spokesperson for the parliamentary subcommittee on criminal justice, prison healthcare quality, and social reintegration of formerly incarcerated persons, suddenly suffered chest pain and difficulty breathing while preparing for a press conference. He was immediately rushed to the hospital and unable to attend the briefing, which was scheduled to discuss rehabilitation programs for people with criminal records.
Radkela explained that Paiśal had organized the press conference to bring together formerly incarcerated individuals to share experiences and advocate for improved conditions in prisons and better social reintegration. Despite his medical emergency, Paiśal remained concerned about the event's proceedings even while en route to hospital.
Radkela reported that Paiśal's condition is now stable and improving. Doctors have scheduled follow-up cardiac tests for this week and advised complete rest and health care. She noted that although Paiśal has several ongoing parliamentary duties, his health and recovery are currently the priority.
