Meat Restaurant Staff Struggle With Months of Unpaid Wages
Staff at a popular meat restaurant haven't been paid in months, receiving only 6% of owed wages as the company claims financial hardship, leaving workers struggling to pay rent and bills.
Employees at a renowned meat restaurant are facing severe hardship after the company, citing financial difficulties, failed to pay salaries for several months and subsequently paid only 6% of what was owed. The situation became public when a Facebook page brought attention to multiple workers' pleas for fair treatment, claiming the company lacks sufficient cash flow and has delayed their wages. After employees pressed the company for payment, the firm recently dispersed only 6% of May's salary, while June's payment remains without a scheduled date. Many workers are struggling to cover vehicle installments, rent, and daily expenses. Some staff members said they had already filed complaints with authorities but saw no progress. A Facebook commenter later sarcastically noted specific cases, including one kitchen staff member earning 12,000 baht who received only 720 baht (6% of June salary), and another earning 15,000 baht who received just 900 baht.
