Police Raid Bangkok Restaurant, Arrest Six Illegal Foreign Workers
Police raided a Bangkok restaurant in Bangbon and arrested six undocumented foreign workers—three Laotians and three Vietnamese—who were working without valid permits.
On July 10, 2569, the Internal Security Command Region 1, under Maj. Gen. Petchaek Intrathat, Deputy Bangkok Internal Security Commander, coordinated with the central employment registry office, the Bangkok Employment Office Zone 2, and Immigration Bureau Unit 1 to inspect a well-known restaurant in the Bangbon area following reports of illegal foreign worker employment.
The operation commenced at 9 p.m. on July 9, 2569. Officers found six foreign workers without valid work permits on the premises: three Laotians (two women and one man) and three Vietnamese nationals (two women and one man).
All six workers were detained and transferred to Samsen Police Station for prosecution under the charge of "foreign national working without a work permit," which violates Sections 8 and 101 of the Foreign Workers Management Act B.E. 2560 and its amendments (No. 2) B.E. 2561.
Authorities stated the operation proceeded smoothly and pledged to continue coordinated inspections of businesses suspected of violating foreign labor laws.
