The Thai Meteorological Department issued alert #13 on May 19, 2569 warning of a moderately strong monsoon bringing increased rainfall with heavy to very heavy conditions in some areas, with risks of flash floods and flash flood hazards, and high sea waves in the Andaman Sea. Between May 19-21, 2569, Thailand will experience increased rainfall with heavy to very heavy conditions, particularly affecting the western regions, northern Thailand, upper northeastern Thailand, central Thailand, eastern Thailand, and the western coast of southern Thailand. This is due to a moderately strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand, combined with a low-pressure system over northern Vietnam's coastal areas.

Residents in affected areas are urged to be cautious of dangers from heavy and very heavy rainfall and accumulated precipitation, which may cause sudden flash floods and flash flooding, particularly in mountainous areas near waterways and low-lying areas. Sea conditions in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand are moderately rough, with waves 2-3 meters high in the upper Andaman Sea from Phuket northward, exceeding 3 meters in thunderstorm areas. The lower Andaman Sea from Krabi southward and the upper Gulf of Thailand have waves around 2 meters, exceeding 2 meters in thunderstorm areas.

Fishermen in these areas are advised to exercise caution and avoid areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should refrain from departing during this period. The public is encouraged to monitor updates from the Thai Meteorological Department via http://www.tmd.go.th or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24/7. The next alert will be issued on May 19, 2569 at 5:00 PM.
