A tragic accident occurred when a mother riding a motorcycle with her daughter as a passenger was crushed by a 22-wheel trailer truck, killing both instantly. The truck driver stated he sounded his horn in warning as the pair attempted a U-turn. Police are urgently investigating the incident.
On October 26, 2026, Lieutenant Lattapol Lapathanachot, Deputy Inspector of Investigation at Klang Police Station, Rayong Province, received a report of a collision between a 22-wheel trailer truck and a motorcycle resulting in two fatalities on Highway 3648, the Klang bypass road, in Ban Na subdistrict, Klang district, Rayong. Officers coordinated with medical personnel and rushed to the scene alongside rescue workers from the Klang District Buddhadasa Rescue Foundation.
At the scene, in the middle of the road, they found the bodies of two victims — the female driver and her young daughter. The passenger lay dead near the overturned, heavily damaged motorcycle. Approximately 30 meters away, the 22-wheel trailer truck was parked on the roadside.
Mr. Thanong, 28, the truck driver, stated that prior to the accident he had been transporting lumber in Klang district and was en route to Na Yai Am district in Chanthaburi province. Upon reaching the accident site, he saw the deceased woman riding the motorcycle with the girl as a passenger emerging from Ban Nong Chakhae and attempting a U-turn.
"I honked the horn to warn them, but the driver did not turn to look; she only looked at traffic coming from the Chanthaburi side. Even though I tried to brake, the motorcycle crashed violently into the left side of the trailer, slid underneath the truck bed, and was run over by the trailer wheels."
Police initially detained Mr. Thanong for a detailed statement and are urgently reviewing CCTV footage to determine the exact cause. The bodies were sent to the hospital before being released to relatives for religious rites.
