Murder Warrant Issued for Former Thai Tennis Coach
A murder warrant has been issued for a Myanmar national accused of killing a 64-year-old prominent tennis coach found dead in his Chachoengsao bedroom, with police launching a manhunt to prevent his escape across the Thai-Myanmar border.
A 64-year-old retired national tennis player, beach tennis athlete, and prominent tennis coach who ran a well-known facility in Pattaya was found dead in his bedroom in Bang Lamung, Chachoengsao. Police issued a murder warrant on July 28 after gathering sufficient evidence linking a Myanmar national to the killing, citing intentional homicide charges. The suspect, whose name was not disclosed, previously worked at the victim's residence and disappeared about one month before the body was discovered with a knife near the bed.
Investigators from Nong Prue Police Station and Chachoengsao Provincial Police launched a manhunt, searching hideouts in Pluak Daeng and Bo Win districts but found no trace of the suspect. Authorities are coordinating with Myanmar's military to prevent the suspect from escaping across the border at Mae Sod.
