On Saturday, September 5, 2026, the Supreme Patriarch presided over a Buddhist blessing ceremony at Somdet Phra Sangkharat Hospital in Damnoen Saduak district, Ratchaburi province, where he laid cornerstones for two new buildings dedicated to medical treatment, health promotion, and rehabilitation services. Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul led the lay representatives, joined by Health Minister Patana Promptpattan, government officials, medical personnel, and the public in attendance.
The hospital, previously known as Damnoen Saduak Hospital and under the Public Health Ministry's oversight, has served the community for over 60 years as the primary healthcare facility for Damnoen Saduak district and nearby areas. It provides comprehensive services including treatment, emergency care, health promotion, disease prevention, and rehabilitation for all age groups. However, growing numbers of elderly patients and those with chronic conditions, combined with space limitations, necessitated an expansion to improve healthcare access and efficiency.
The hospital was renamed in honor of the Supreme Patriarch's forthcoming 100th birthday in 2027. On June 26, 2026, marking his 99th birthday, he donated 7 rai 34 square wah of land adjacent to the hospital through the Sangkharat Foundation for expansion according to the Health Ministry's development plan.
The Supreme Patriarch designated the new medical treatment and health promotion building as "Celebrating Centennial Building" and the rehabilitation building as "Prospering Century Building," symbolizing the celebration of his 100-year milestone and blessings for enhanced development. These two buildings will significantly increase the hospital's capacity to serve monks, the elderly, patients with chronic diseases, and residents of Ratchaburi province and surrounding regions, fulfilling the Supreme Patriarch's benevolent intentions and his commitment to public welfare.
