At 9:00 AM on May 26, 2567 at Parliament, Prithiyathorn Wacharasindhu, list-system MP and deputy leader of the Pheu Thai Party (ปชน.), provided updates on the signature-gathering effort for a petition to the parliamentary speaker requesting the Supreme Court establish an investigation committee into the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) commissioners for alleged misconduct. The draft petition has been circulated to coalition opposition parties and interested senators for signatures and will be finalized this week before submission to the parliamentary speaker next week. The core issue stems from the NACC's decision to dismiss a complaint against former Transport Minister Saksiam Chidchob regarding stock manipulation. Prithiyathorn noted an apparent contradiction, stating the NACC's announcement made no mention of establishing an investigation committee or conducting any investigation before voting to dismiss the case. He said he had previously raised questions publicly and in parliamentary debate on this matter but received no clarification from the NACC. He further stated that if facts show the NACC failed to investigate before dismissing the case, this would contradict due process, particularly since the Constitutional Court had previously ruled to remove Saksiam from office based on the same set of facts, raising questions about the NACC's standards for assessing whether sufficient grounds exist to initiate a preliminary investigation.
