Police conducted raids and arrests at a luxury residential community in Bangkok's Rama II district on July 9, 2025, during Operation "Shedding Dragon Scales," led by Deputy Police Commissioner Pol. Three illegal lenders surrendered to police after attacking a convenience store worker, admitting they acted in anger over a 8,000-baht loan with missed payments. A young woman from Khon Kaen who came to work in Phuket and became homeless has been found safe, reuniting her with her worried family.

The search began after Phuket Times shared an appeal from mother Suphawadee Saramakun, whose daughter Kanistha Thepseeda had gone missing while working on Phuket Island. Unable to contact her daughter, the mother reached out to the public for help. Reports indicated that Kanistha had become homeless—without money or a fixed address—and was last seen in the Kamala area.

On July 9, 2025, Kamala Police Station received a report from a citizen about a woman spotted near McDonald's in Kamala whose appearance matched the missing person description circulating on social media. Officers from Kamala Station, along with municipal staff, investigated and confirmed the woman was indeed Kanistha.
