Pheu Thai Demands Swift Fire Investigation, Criminal Charges

On July 13, the Pheu Thai Party released a statement regarding the fire at the Lat Phrao beer hall, expressing profound sympathy for the families of the 27 victims, the injured, and all those affected by the fire on the evening of July 12. The party recognized that the immediate priority is providing comprehensive medical and psychological care to survivors and the families of those who died, as well as expediting victim identification and coordinating information on missing persons. Pheu Thai said it will closely monitor and coordinate with relevant government agencies to ensure that the injured and bereaved families receive full compensation, medical care, and support. The party called on competent authorities to conduct a swift, transparent, and thorough investigation into the cause of the fire to deliver justice to the victims and hold those responsible accountable under the law. Regarding preventive measures, Pheu Thai stated it will not allow this tragedy to pass without structural reform and will use parliamentary mechanisms to push for stricter and more modern fire-safety regulations to prevent similar disasters.
