Piti Phiromphakdi and Kantsak Kusiri of Singha Motorsport Team Thailand showcased an impressive comeback, charging from seventh place to claim the Supercar GT3 victory at Round 5 (night race) of the TSS The Super Series by B-Quik 2026 at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia on August 22, 2025.

The Honda NSX GT3 number 12 started from pole position, with Piti driving the first stint before handing the car to Kantsak for the second half. After exiting the pit lane in seventh place, Kantsak relentlessly pursued the leaders and overtook Sataporn Virachoea's number 27 car in the final moments before the last corner, crossing the line in second place.

Post-race, the leader was handed a 15-second time penalty for a pit stop procedure violation, promoting Piti and Kantsak's Honda to first place.

Ferrari 296 GT3 number 89, driven by Voravut Phiromphakdi and Carlo van Dam, started from grid 2 and finished fourth.

The Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 reported progress on August 23, 2024, regarding the shooting at Tak Bai Police Station. Deputy Spokesman Ekavrit Chobchuaphol disclosed that the incident occurred on August 2, 2024, when officers from Tak Bai Police Station's investigation unit came under fire while conducting a drug operation in Ban Bung Chalam, Pai Wan Subdistrict, Tak Bai District, Narathiwat Province. Two officers were killed: Sergeant Hamran Ha and Corporal Withaya Chaiyapromkaew.

At 9:48 a.m. on 23 August 2025, Thai Railways announced a temporary closure of the railway line between Mao Ruepo and Tan Yong Mat stations in Narathiwat province. Security and engineering staff discovered damage to concrete sleepers from a bombing incident that occurred overnight. Explosive ordnance disposal teams and security forces are currently conducting a full area sweep before railway engineers begin repairs to restore normal service as quickly as possible. The Thai Armed Forces Command's National Mine Action Center and its Humanitarian Demining Unit 3 are conducting mine clearance operations across four sectors on the Thailand-Cambodia border in Surin and Si Sa Ket provinces. In Sector 1 at Ban Thai Niyom Pattana in Surin's Phanom Dong Rak District, covering 17,523 square meters, personnel cleared an additional 62 square meters without finding any mines or unexploded ordnance. Since April 27, they have cleared 6,034 square meters (34.43 percent) of the sector, with 11,489 square meters remaining suspected or confirmed mined, and have detected 77 mines and unexploded items total. In Sector 2 at the same location, covering 23,334 square meters, an additional 72 square meters were made safe with no mines found. Since April 27, they have cleared 7,907 square meters (33.88 percent), leaving 15,427 square meters still requiring clearance, with 243 mines and unexploded items discovered. In Sector 2 at Ban Phumi Sorn in Si Sa Ket's Kantharalak District (Huai Tamaria area), covering 190,000 square meters, personnel cleared an additional 1,018 square meters and discovered four PMN-2 antipersonnel mines. Since July 7, they have cleared 87,256 square meters (45.92 percent) of this sector, leaving 102,744 square meters to survey, with 17 mines and unexploded items found. In Sector 3 at the same location, covering 190,000 square meters, an additional 1,823 square meters were cleared with no mines detected. The operations reflect the Thai military's commitment to eliminating landmine and unexploded ordnance threats from border areas and restoring safe communities.

Natural Resources and Environment Minister Suchat Chomklin revealed on August 23 that he received a report from Arttapon Charoenchanasa, Director-General of the Department of National Parks, Wildlife and Plant Conservation, following a helicopter survey of the upstream area in Pua District, Nan Province, which was hit by heavy rain, landslides, and road closures. Multiple villages required emergency supply drops by helicopter. The survey found agricultural plots on steep, high-elevation terrain within the national forest reserve where corn was planted nearly to the hilltops. These steep upstream areas face severe risk of soil erosion and water runoff during heavy rainfall. Suchat ordered the Department of Forestry to urgently meet with communities and reinforce that agricultural permits come with strict conditions and rules. He stressed that permission to live and farm does not mean unlimited land use, especially in upstream and steep zones requiring soil and water conservation measures. Suchat stated: "I have instructed the Department of Forestry to quickly engage with the people and make clear that areas the state permits for farming have conditions and rules that must be followed—particularly planting native forest species, maintaining soil, and shifting from single-crop highland agriculture to agroforestry that preserves watershed systems." According to local data, Ban Khun Goon is a traditional community where people have long lived and farmed. Some now operate under state land allocation programs across three sub-watersheds with 11 communities covering at least 4,000 rai, mostly growing corn. A few areas, such as Moo 2 in Phu Kha Subdistrict with 37 households, have begun transitioning to coffee and higher-value crops. Suchat clarified: "We do not view all indigenous residents as encroachers, but once the state designates farming areas, they must follow the conditions and rules—particularly watershed management through tree planting, terracing, reduced pesticide use, and soil and water conservation. These are responsibilities everyone must share." He stated that the recent flash floods and landslides in Nan must serve as a critical lesson for managing highland areas, requiring careful assessment of which zones should be farmed, which restored to forest, and which suited to appropriate agriculture. The minister ordered the Department of Forestry to systematically survey and map highland areas while building public understanding of the importance of perennial trees, reduced monoculture, and cash crops compatible with forest species—such as coffee, cocoa, avocado, and fruit trees—to generate income alongside conservation.

Thailand's para-cycling team is undergoing intensive training at the Sports Science Center at Chiang Mai's 700 Years Stadium to prepare for the Asian Para Games, following a training program lasting more than two years. The team aims to secure at least one gold medal, working under Swiss head coach Christian Stauffer alongside team manager Associate Professor Dr. Ann Mahakeeta and Malaysian coaching staff tasked with raising athlete performance across all areas.

The team's hopes rest on sprint cyclist Jaturong Niwantti, supported by 30-year-old hand-cyclist Arthchai Sriwijai from the MH5 category, who rebuilt his life following an accident at age 18 before becoming a national athlete.
