On October 23, 2026, Pol. Lt. Col. Sarayut Chunnawat, Deputy Commander of Sub-Division 2, led Pol. Lt. Col. Torasak Panklinphut, Chief of Investigation Unit 4, Sub-Division 2, Pol. Lt. Col. Chirawat Burinam, Deputy Chief of Investigation Unit 4, Pol. Lt. Col. Manas Nilkarn, Inspector of Investigation Unit 4, and Pol. Lt. Col. Songkroch Inthachaisri, Inspector of Investigation Unit 4, Sub-Division 2, in a raid targeting a major clandestine air gun manufacturing operation in Chachoengsao province. Acting on a search warrant from the Chachoengsao Provincial Court, investigators searched a residence in Moo 8, Wang Yen subdistrict, Plaeng Yao district, and arrested Mr. Sa-ngwang, 35, the homeowner. Seized items included one Thai-made .22-caliber air rifle, 64 gun parts such as buttstocks, barrels, loading mechanisms, and other components, along with numerous machining tools used for barrel production.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation by Investigation Unit 4, Sub-Division 2, which discovered an online store platform selling PCP air gun conversion kits and covertly shipping various gun parts via a private courier to Mr. Sa-ngwang's residence. Police gathered evidence and obtained a search warrant before apprehending the suspect with all contraband.
Mr. Sa-ngwang confessed to illegally manufacturing and selling guns for more than three years. He ordered some parts from covert online shops, fabricated others himself, assembled them into functional firearms, then marketed them on a YouTube channel named "Ubon Lom Sing." Interested buyers were directed to contact him via LINE for transactions at 9,000-10,000 baht per unit.
Authorities are initially charging him with "manufacturing, assembling, repairing, altering, ordering, importing, possessing, or selling air guns for commercial purposes without a license, and possessing a modified homemade long-barreled air gun without a license."
