Police Arrest Man With Homemade Guns And Methamphetamine
Police arrested a 45-year-old man in Rayong Province after finding homemade firearms, ammunition, and methamphetamine pills at his residence. The suspect was involved in illegally modifying and assembling weapons sold online.
On August 18, officers from Ban Chang Police Station, led by Thanongsak Kammaat, the station commander, tasked Deputy Superintendent Arthit Sisingha and an investigation team with searching and apprehending a 45-year-old suspect in Pla Subdistrict, Ban Chang District, Rayong Province. Intelligence indicated the man was involved in illegally modifying and assembling homemade firearms—weapons ineligible for official licensing.
During the search of his residence, officers recovered a revolver with six rounds of ammunition, one modified firearm mechanism component, an air rifle with a scope, three wooden gun stocks, and one air pump. Police also discovered eight methamphetamine pills in the suspect's possession, indicating drug use.
Authorities detained the suspect and seized all evidence, forwarding the case for legal prosecution under the Firearms Act and drug-related statutes. Commander Thanongsak stated the operation aligns with government and national police policy to intercept and eliminate illegal weapons, drugs, and contraband—particularly unauthorized firearm sales and modifications conducted online. Ban Chang Police Station pledged rigorous law enforcement and continued prevention and suppression of crime both in the community and online to protect public safety and property.
