PM Anutin Dismisses Sondhi's Warning Over Election Commission Ruling
PM Anutin brushed off former protest leader Sondhi's threat to mobilize mass demonstrations if the Election Commission doesn't pursue charges against MPs accused of defecting, saying he hadn't heard the warning.
Prime Minister Anutin Charansanitwong declined to engage with former People's Alliance for Democracy leader Sondhi Limthongkul's fierce declaration to reclaim Thailand and mobilize mass protests if the Election Commission fails to pursue charges against MPs accused of defecting.
At 2:10 p.m. on September 7 at Government House, Anutin, who also holds the Interior Ministry portfolio, was questioned about Sondhi's statement. Anutin stated he had not listened to it.
When reporters pressed him on Sondhi's announcement that he would escalate protests on September 14 if the Election Commission does not file charges against the MPs, and challenged the Prime Minister to debate the issue, Anutin gave only a brief "yes" before walking into Government House.
