PM Avoids Questions on Discipline Case, Cites Ambassador Meeting
PM Srettha avoided questions about a disciplinary investigation into local officials accused of exam fraud, citing a prior ambassador meeting at government house on July 6.
At 9:30 a.m. on July 6, 2025, following a briefing on a budget bill at Parliament, Prime Minister Anuthin Charnvirakul and the Interior Minister hurried to their vehicle. When reporters asked whether the Permanent Secretary of the Interior Ministry had completed the signing of an order establishing a disciplinary committee to investigate five local government officials involved in municipal exam fraud, the PM simply smiled without answering.
Reporters then attempted to ask about results from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) showing his approval ratings had declined. Anuthin briefly lowered his car window and said only that he needed to rush to meet an ambassador at the government house. When pressed again on whether he had signed the disciplinary order, the PM merely smiled, closed the window, and immediately departed Parliament.
