Police Bust Phuket Airport Theft Gang, Seize 3M Baht Goods
Phuket police arrested eight logistics company employees for stealing electronics worth over 3 million baht from the Phuket International Airport cargo warehouse. The gang committed more than eight thefts, using their access to shipping containers to steal phones, tablets, and gaming consoles. Police seized 108 items and four vehicles during raids on three dormitories, and also arrested a receiver of the stolen goods.
On November 4, 2026, Pol. Lt. Col. Dr. Surachai Sukai, Phuket Provincial Police Commander, together with Pol. Lt. Col. Salan Santisatsanakul, Sakoo Police Superintendent, announced the arrest of eight suspects in a joint theft case involving goods from the Phuket International Airport cargo warehouse. After investigative police from Sakoo Station tracked the gang's behavior, they apprehended all eight suspects at a checkpoint in front of the village headman's house in Moo 3, Sakoo Subdistrict, Thalang District, Phuket. Police then expanded searches to three dormitories in Thalang District, seizing additional suspected stolen property.
The eight suspects are: Somchai Khunphon, Wanchalong Neua-on, Kittikorn Chanchuklin, Hathairat Musikaphon, Inthira Sutthit, Sirisot Yangpong, Natthakorn Sukchuang, and Pongsiri Khemsin.
Investigation revealed the suspects were employees of a private logistics company tasked with transporting goods from the Phuket International Airport warehouse to Russia. They exploited their duties and familiarity with cargo handling procedures to jointly steal items from shipping containers.
The first incident occurred on November 2, 2025, around 00:22, when Inthira Sutthit and Natthakorn Sukchuang drove a black Isuzu pickup to park in front of the Phuket Airport cargo warehouse. Working with other suspects who were logistics staff, they took advantage of the loading and container-opening process to steal mobile phones and various electronic devices, loading them into a waiting vehicle before hiding and reselling them to a receiver network.
Investigators found the gang had committed similar crimes more than eight times, causing total damage exceeding 3 million baht.
Following the arrests, police searched three suspect dormitories in Thalang District, seizing 108 items including mobile phones and smartphones from brands such as Vivo, Oppo, Redmi, Realme, Poco, and Honor, as well as tablets, smartwatches, wireless earphones, Bluetooth speakers, smart glasses, and Nintendo game consoles.
Also seized were vehicles used in the crimes: a black Isuzu D-Max pickup (Songkhla license plate 7187), a white pickup (Phuket license plate 2318), a white Honda PCX motorcycle (Bangkok license plate 2Kor 5013), and a gray PCX motorcycle (Nakhon Si Thammarat license plate 2Kor 7556).
Police further arrested Pongsiri Khemsin, identified as a receiver who bought stolen phones and electronics, seizing additional related property.
Initially, suspects face charges of joint nighttime theft by two or more persons at an airport, using vehicles to facilitate the crime or transport stolen goods, and receiving stolen property. Investigation continues to trace financial routes and identify other potential accomplices for prosecution.
