Deputy Government Spokesperson Lalida Perischvivat announced that the cabinet approved the draft MOU on weights and measures cooperation between Thailand's Ministry of Commerce and China's State Administration for Market Regulation. The agreement authorizes the Commerce Minister or designated representative to sign, aiming to upgrade measurement standards, prevent illegal weighing device sales, and enhance trade facilitation. The collaboration will align Thailand's measurement system with international standards through information exchange, expert consultation, and type approval processes, while jointly establishing guidelines to prevent and suppress illegal scale sales on online platforms. Both countries will promote technology transfer and innovation in measurement systems, develop mutual certificate recognition under the International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML), and exchange test reports and related documents to strengthen Thailand's regulatory capacity and business competitiveness. A joint working group will be established with designated coordinators from each country to ensure continuous implementation and concrete results. The cooperation will provide Thailand access to Chinese expertise and technology, improve oversight of new measurement devices critical to agriculture, industry, and the economy, reduce technical trade barriers, and build international confidence in Thai product standards. The MOU is a non-binding administrative framework between the two countries and not a treaty under Thailand's constitution, but serves as an important mechanism to modernize Thailand's measurement standards in line with global technological and commercial changes while protecting consumers.

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has revoked the investment adviser approval of Walailak Pokperm Dee, a former Krung Thai Bank employee, for 10 years on July 14, 2025, following an investigation into her misconduct between January 2022 and March 2025. The SEC found that Pokperm Dee misappropriated assets from 11 clients totaling 19,316,457 baht through two methods: failing to invest client money as instructed and using it for personal purposes, and withdrawing client deposits without authorization by using deposit slips that prevented the fraud from appearing in account books.

Pokperm Dee also created and altered documents with false information to deceive clients into believing they had made legitimate investments and received returns while their accounts remained intact. After the bank discovered the misconduct, Pokperm Dee confessed and the bank fully reimbursed all affected customers.

The SEC determined that Pokperm Dee's actions violated regulations prohibiting dishonest conduct and behavior that undermines trust in capital market professionals. Since her investment adviser approval had already expired on December 31, 2024, the SEC imposed a 10-year ban on her reapplication for any capital market profession license, effective July 14, 2025. The SEC considered multiple factors in determining the penalty, including her role in the misconduct, previous disciplinary actions, harm to victims, and any past behavior indicating unsuitability for capital market work.

The SEC advised investors to regularly review their investment unit reports and bank statements, immediately reject or dispute any unauthorized transactions, and avoid leaving important documents with investment advisers to prevent potential fraud.

MSD Thailand announced on July 14, 2569 that it is backing Trans Pride Thailand 2026 to reinforce its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion during Pride Month. The company is supporting the event through the TRANSMISSION exhibition—powered by AIS, titled "Cross Gender, Cross Time, Toward Equality"—held at AIS Siam in Bangkok from June 12–16, marking its second year of support under the MSD Gives Back program.

The company also launched MSD All Gen(ders) Run, a diversity-connecting running event at Lumpini Park, demonstrating MSD's commitment to advancing equality both within the transgender, non-binary, and intersex communities and internally within the organization. Trans Pride Thailand 2026, now in its third edition since 2567, is a national pride festival for transgender, non-binary, and intersex communities and is an official member of InterPride, the international pride organizers' association. This year's event centers on the concept of "passing power" across generations and from visibility to structural and economic influence, reflecting confidence that transgender equality is vital to driving sustainable social progress.

Over five days, multiple activities celebrate diversity and pride linked globally, featuring three main highlights: the TRANSMISSION exhibition showcasing the economic and cultural value of the transgender community across four experience zones (SEEN on Thai transgender history, MOVE on rights and legal equality, WORTH on the Trans Economy, and WORLD on Thai soft power); Talk Series forums covering law, health, creative economy, and family; and Boost Camp workshops for transgender and gender-diverse content creators at AIS SIAM STUDIO, fourth floor.

MSD sent representatives to speak at the "EARN YOUR WORTH" forum, sharing real experiences in building organizations that embrace gender diversity and promote equality for all. Beyond supporting Trans Pride Thailand, MSD reflected Pride internally through MSD All Gen(ders) Run, the company's first such event at Lumpini Park, born from collaboration between two MSD employee networks: Next Gen Network (young employees) and Rainbow Alliance (gender diversity network). Employees were paired with buddies differing in age, gender, background, or department to run, walk, and enjoy Color Hunting activities, demonstrating MSD's internal and external commitment to driving equality.

On July 14, 2025, Surapong Inthataworn, secretary-general of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), announced that the commission had found charges against Porchai Kovsuratana, who was PAO governor of Ubon Ratchathani, and his associates for conspiring to defraud a water pump procurement project. The scheme involved purchasing 80 diesel-powered centrifugal pumps with 8-inch diameter capacities and equipment in fiscal year 2013 at inflated prices, resulting in 8 million baht in damages to the PAO and the state.

The NACC investigation revealed that in 2013, the natural resources and environment division of Ubon Ratchathani PAO received loan approval to help farmers combat drought through a piped irrigation system. Porchai, as governor, authorized the formation of a price evaluation committee to determine specifications and set a benchmark price for the pumps. On January 21, 2013, the committee submitted a report setting the price at 750,000 baht per pump under Porchai's direction.

However, inspection found that in fiscal year 2011, Porchai had approved purchasing identical pumps at 650,000 baht each. According to government procurement standards, benchmark pricing should use prices from purchases made within the previous two fiscal years. Despite this, Porchai approved the inflated 2013 price and a sales contract was executed on July 5, 2013, causing the state total damages of 8 million baht.

The NACC determined that Porchai's actions violated the Criminal Code articles 151 and 157, as well as the Anti-Corruption Act provisions on malfeasance and abuse of authority.

On July 14, 2025, military forces from the Burapha Command and the 1206 Ranger Unit conducted border patrols in Aranyaprathet District, Sakaew Province, when they discovered a group of men, women, and children trekking through natural forest paths near Noen Samphoem village. All 14 were identified as Cambodian nationals who had entered Thailand illegally—six men, seven women, and one boy. Ten had passports; four had no identification documents.

Upon questioning, the detainees explained they had previously worked in Thailand but returned to Cambodia last year and could not find employment. They contacted human smugglers and agreed to pay 5,000–8,000 baht per person to be smuggled back into Thailand to find work in markets in Pathum Thani, Rayong, and Bangkok.

"Three smugglers led us on foot through natural passages during the night to avoid detection," one detainee recounted. "But on our way to meet a pickup vehicle near Kud Hin village, we encountered ranger patrols. The three smugglers ran into a sugarcane field and abandoned us, and we were arrested."

The 14 Cambodians have been handed over to Khlong Nam Sai Police Station for prosecution on illegal entry charges. Authorities are pursuing the three smugglers who escaped.
