Police Near Completion of Celebrity Charity Foundation Fraud Probe
Thailand's Economic Crime Suppression Division is nearing completion of its investigation into the "Do Good" Foundation chaired by celebrity Panadda "Bum" Wongphudee. Police have traced donation flows, finding funds were diverted from stated charitable purposes, and reject Panadda's defense that she was unaware or deceived by her husband. As foundation chair, she held legal responsibility for financial oversight and certified reports to tax authorities. Investigators are also examining payments to construction contractors in Phuket and Pathum Thani to determine possible accomplice liability.
The Economic Crime Suppression Division (ECS) is accelerating its investigation into the financial trail of the "Do Good" Foundation chaired by celebrity Panadda Wongphudee, known as "Bum Panadda." Police have interviewed donors who confirmed donation channels, timing, and amounts, and found evidence that funds were not used for the foundation's stated purposes. As foundation chair, Panadda bears direct responsibility for financial management, accounting, and certifying annual reports to the Revenue Department. Her claims of being deceived by her husband and having no knowledge are not given weight by investigators, who note her legal duty and the pattern of repeated transactions. Police are also questioning contractors, including a pool villa builder in Phuket and a foundation builder in Pathum Thani, to determine if they are witnesses or accomplices. An arrest warrant may be sought once the case file is complete.
