Police Officer's Marriage Crumbles After Wife Takes Driving Lessons

On September 3, 2025, the program Hone Kramaew featured an interview with a police deputy inspector whose marriage fell apart after he sent his wife to driving school. What he thought would improve her life became the starting point of her infidelity with the driving instructor.
The officer, Somphop, recounted how the couple had shared over 20 years of joy and hardship, raising their family together. They were so devoted that they traveled to Luang Pho Suea Buddhist Temple to take a sacred vow of eternal love, swearing they would remain faithful until death and inviting misfortune upon whoever was unfaithful. Throughout their relationship, Somphop insisted he worked hard to provide and never strayed.
The turning point came about two years ago when he sent his wife to driving school to obtain a proper license. After that, her behavior changed dramatically. She refused to let him touch her, complained about his body odor and his use of the upstairs bathroom at night, and banned him from sleeping in their bed. She eventually demanded a divorce, and when he refused, she kicked him down the stairs and threatened him with a knife. Fearing for his children's welfare and wanting to keep the family intact, Somphop relented and begged for a reconciliation, but she refused.
Somphop revealed that his wife's stated reason for divorce was incompatibility and his snoring, but the real reason was her affair with the driving instructor. He ultimately had to rescind the sacred vow they had taken together.
