Pregnant Woman Gives Birth in Car During Hospital Dash
A pregnant woman gave birth to a healthy baby girl inside a car on a Chonburi roadside while being rushed to Panthong Hospital. Rescue workers and hospital staff assisted with the delivery before transporting both mother and child to the hospital. The driver, experiencing his first such emergency, plans to use his license plate numbers for the lottery.
On October 22, 2026, at 8:30 p.m., the Sawang Uthayan Panthong rescue unit received a report of a woman in labor inside a sedan parked on the Panthong–Ban Kao road in Ban Kao subdistrict, Panthong district, Chonburi province. They coordinated with the Panthong Hospital emergency medical team to respond.
At the scene, they found a white Nissan Note parked by the roadside with a woman delivering a baby inside. Rescue workers and the hospital medical team quickly assisted, and the woman gave birth to a baby girl who appeared healthy and fully developed. The medical team provided care, cut the umbilical cord, and transported both mother and child to Panthong Hospital for further observation.
The driver, Anan Kamlerd, 38, said the woman had called for a ride to the hospital due to severe abdominal pain. He hurried toward Panthong Hospital but before reaching it, she shouted that the baby was coming. He immediately pulled over and called emergency services. Having never encountered such a situation in his driving career, he was quite shaken but believes the newborn may bring good luck and plans to play his vehicle's license plate numbers in the next lottery draw.
