The operation stemmed from a policy to suppress illegal activities in the area, particularly illegal entry and residence of foreign workers. Following an investigation, authorities received intelligence that a large group of foreign workers had secretly entered and were residing and working inside an unnumbered construction camp. When officers arrived, they identified themselves and requested to check identification documents, passports, and permits to stay in the Kingdom. Inspection revealed 42 Myanmar nationals — 28 men and 14 women — none of whom could produce any documents or proof of legal entry. Initially, officers charged them with "entering and staying in the Kingdom without permission as an alien" before detaining all 42 and handing them to Pol. Lt. Col. Noppachai Yimpan, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Muang Rayong Police Station, for legal proceedings. However, police and district officials will further investigate travel routes, employment details, and those involved in recruiting and hiring to pursue charges against employers or accomplices based on evidence. They vowed to continue cracking down on illegal workers in the area to maintain order and prevent crime.
