Police arrested a prominent restaurant worker in the Tha Tian area for breaking into a locker and stealing 350,000 baht from the owner. The suspect claimed he committed the theft while drunk and wanted to spite his family, blaming himself as the eldest brother without stable employment like his siblings.
On May 24, 2569, a police investigation team led by Pol. Maj. Siam Bunserm and other senior officers ordered the arrest of 32-year-old Chai in Soi Charoen Rat 4, Khlong San district. Police recovered 193,971 baht in remaining cash from the theft.
The case originated when the restaurant owner filed a complaint about 356,918 baht stolen from a locker inside the restaurant. Security camera footage identified Chai, a restaurant employee, as the thief. After the report, police launched an urgent manhunt and apprehended him in Soi Charoen Rat 4.
During interrogation, Chai confessed and claimed he committed the crime while intoxicated because he wanted to spite his family at home. He explained that as the eldest brother without stable income like his younger siblings, he felt bitter about his situation. He had already spent 100,000 baht of the stolen money. Police transferred him to prosecutors for formal charges and legal proceedings.
