At 5:30 PM on April 30, 2026, a gunman opened fire during the Tha Moung Cup football championship at Tha Moung Sports Field in Thepha District, Songkhla Province. One person was injured and transported to Thepha Hospital, where he later died. The victim was identified as Anudin, age 29, a footballer from Moo 8, Tha Moung Subdistrict.
Witnesses stated the gunman was a young man approximately 20-22 years old who had been sitting to watch the match before firing 2-3 shots at the victim in front of hundreds of spectators.
After the shooting, the suspect fled on a black motorcycle. Initial police review of CCTV footage shows he escaped toward Lampai Subdistrict in Thepha District. Forensic teams are collecting evidence at the scene to track down the suspect and file charges.
