Singha Backs Thai Padel Team for 2026 Asian Games

Singha has announced its sponsorship of the Thai Padel Association, supporting padel as a trending sport that is rapidly growing worldwide, to the international stage at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan. This marks the first time in history that padel has been included as a medal sport at the Asian Games.

Worrawut Phiromyarkadee, senior vice-chairman and co-CEO of Buonrod Brewing and Buonrod Trading, said: "Padel is a global sport trend growing rapidly and popular in over 150 countries worldwide, with more than 38 million players. We see an opportunity for Thai athletes to grow alongside this sport. Competing in the Asian Games for the first time is a crucial step for Thai padel athletes. Our support is not only to prepare for the upcoming competition, but to build Thai padel athletes who will grow and gain recognition in major competitions in the future."

Suphalak Chairojpun, president of the Thai Padel Association, stated: "Singha's support will strengthen our athletes and team for the 2026 Asian Games, and support the development of padel in Thailand across athletes, coaches, referees, and facilities, so that padel becomes widely known and provides a foundation for Thai athletes to develop towards international competitions."

For the 2026 Asian Games, Thailand is sending four padel athletes: men's team Annnpol Ravol and Stefano Mocchola, and women's team Daresat Srirungruang and Natalie Nakpraserit. They will compete from 28 September to 4 October 2026 in Japan.

Padel is a doubles racket sport combining elements of tennis and squash, currently played by over 38 million people in more than 150 countries worldwide. The Thai padel team aims to perform well and gain experience at the Asian Games to develop further and target a medal at the 2027 SEA Games in Malaysia.
