Six young men who escaped from the Nakhon Ratchasima Youth Development and Protection Center stole a school pickup truck and fled to Chaiyaphum province on July 16, 2025. The group broke out of their detention facility at 5:30 a.m. by cutting through window bars during the early morning darkness, then stole an Isuzu pickup belonging to Ratchasima College around 7:00 a.m. from a location about 800 meters away. Police from multiple jurisdictions coordinated search efforts and roadblocks, eventually locating the abandoned truck in Noen Song District, Chaiyaphum. All six suspects were safely apprehended through coordinated efforts between the Chaiyaphum Provincial Police and local police.
During initial questioning, one of the youths confessed that he missed his home and wanted to return, which prompted him to persuade the others to plan their escape and steal the vehicle to travel back to their hometown. The suspects have been remanded into custody and will be transferred back to the Nakhon Ratchasima Youth Development and Protection Center for further legal proceedings.
