The event includes a fancy‑dress competition, free concerts and festive lighting, aiming to boost winter tourism and promote sports‑based travel. Officials launched the initiative at a press conference attended by the governor, tourism officials and local celebrities.
The run will feature three distances—10 km, 5 km and 3.5 km—taking participants past historic sites illuminated at night, including Wat Phumin, Wat Chang Kham, the National Museum, Wat Si Phan Ton, the old city walls, Sri Mueang Park, Wat Hua Wiang Tai, the governor’s residence, Wat Si Bun Rueang, Wat Muang Tuet and across the bridge to Wat Phra That Chae Haeng. In addition to the race, a fancy‑dress contest will award cash prizes and trophies worth 5,500 baht, and free concerts will be performed by Pop Pongkool, Top Phopphorn and Jetset’er on the evenings of 23 and 24 October. The route will be decorated with twelve‑zodiac lantern check‑in points and extra lighting to highlight Nan’s nocturnal charm. Officials said the event aims to attract health‑conscious travelers and families, marking the start of Nan’s high‑season tourism period.
