Soldier Dies After Motorcycle Hits Parked Timber Truck
A 26-year-old soldier died instantly on July 3rd when his motorcycle hit a parked timber truck on Highway 41 in Nakhon Si Thammarat province. The crash left him with severe injuries and the truck driver is under investigation.
A 26-year-old soldier with the 41st Infantry Battalion died at 7:00 PM on July 3rd after his motorcycle collided with a parked timber truck on Highway 41 in Tham Yai subdistrict, Thung Song district, Nakhon Si Thammarat. Pol. Capt. Pholkrit Singsuwan from Thung Song Police Station received the report of the fatal accident and proceeded to investigate along with Prachachart Foundation rescue units.
At the scene, authorities found the body of Sergeant Major Thawatchai, 26, with severe lacerations to his face and torso. Nearby, his motorcycle lay overturned behind the fully-loaded timber truck.
According to initial investigation, Thawatchai was riding his motorcycle along the highway when he encountered the parked timber truck. He struck the truck at full speed, causing his body to impact the logs on the vehicle. He was killed instantly. Officials are contacting the victim's family, and the truck driver will be interrogated further for legal proceedings.
