Tan and YouYou Launch Sapphic Series 'Love Me To Hurt Me'
Thai actresses Tan Duangkaew and YouYou Ornicha launched their new sapphic series 'Love Me To Hurt Me' at a blessing ceremony in Bangkok. The pair discussed their intense on-screen chemistry, emotionally demanding roles, and the strong off-screen bond that developed during workshops, expressing excitement for the series' release.
Actresses Tan Duangkaew and YouYou Ornicha opened up about their first collaboration in the new sapphic series 'Love Me To Hurt Me' after attending a blessing ceremony on November 4 at Malinond Tower. The duo discussed their intense on-screen chemistry, challenging roles, and steamy love scenes, confirming their full commitment to the project both on and off screen.
Regarding their new on-screen chemistry, Tan said: "I'm very excited and can't wait to see the result because during filming we barely looked at the monitor, we just focused on acting. So I want to see how it turns out." YouYou agreed: "Same as Tan said. During filming I tried not to go to the monitor. If it was my scene I wouldn't watch, because I want to see it along with everyone else and find out how it comes out."
Asked about the challenges of their roles, Tan explained: "For me, the character's emotions are quite complex. She has many issues and knots from the past, so I had to stay focused on what the character is thinking in each moment because there are many emotions in a single scene. That's the difficulty. There was also pressure at the beginning to do homework and understand the character, but the more I played her, the deeper and more fun it became. Also, I think everyone has a dark side. The director told us to bring it out. We don't have to show only the good side all the time. We're allowed to try being a 'bad' person — within the story, of course (smiles)." YouYou added: "For me, the hardest part is crying. The director said I have to cry every day, many scenes a day. At first I didn't understand how to feel to make tears come out, because I didn't get acting yet. But as I kept going and immersed myself in the role, the tears started flowing naturally."
Asked if this first role is a 'heavy' one, YouYou said: "Yes, very heavy homework but very fun. Our workshops and work were full of happiness and fun, no pressure or stress, so I feel we did well."
On how they blended their acting styles, Tan said: "We blended from the first meeting. YouYou is articulate, friendly, an extrovert with great positive energy. I was fully open. YouYou is new to this and new to the channel, so I told her I'm ready to look after and support her throughout." YouYou replied: "Whatever I asked, Tan answered everything, giving me knowledge and growth. We spent a lot of time together and clicked. Actually, I already followed Tan's work before joining the channel, so I felt close to her without her knowing. When I looked into who she is, I felt even more comfortable approaching her, so we talked easily."
Before knowing they'd be paired, YouYou said: "We actually met by chance about a week before casting. We talked a bit and got to know each other." Tan confirmed: "Yes, YouYou came up to me first, asked for a photo, and we exchanged social media. But we weren't sure if we'd meet at the channel. When casting day came and we really met, I was so happy. All stress and pressure disappeared."
