Teen Seeks Justice After Advisor's Land Deal Fraud
A 15-year-old girl in Nakhon Pathom is seeking justice after a man claiming to be a former minister's advisor allegedly defrauded her family in a land sale following her father's death. The family had paid 2 million baht on a 2.5 million baht installment contract, then agreed to sell part of the land to clear the remaining debt. The advisor received full payment from the new buyer but refused to pass the family's share to them, and allegedly threatened them when they demanded payment. They have filed a complaint with provincial police.
On October 21, 2026, a 15-year-old girl approached Raphi Chamnanruea for help after a man claiming to be an advisor to a former minister refused to pay the balance owed from the sale of land her father had purchased as an inheritance for her and her mother before his death.
She explained that in January 2023, her father agreed to buy a plot of 1 rai, 1 ngan, 20 square wah in Thung Luuk Nok subdistrict, Kamphaeng Saen district, Nakhon Pathom province, from a Mr. S (pseudonym), acting as attorney for the landowner. The agreed price was 2.5 million baht. A handwritten contract specified the land details and payment terms: a 500,000 baht deposit with the remaining 2 million baht paid in installments.
By December 2024, her father had died in an accident. By then, the family had paid a total of 2 million baht including the deposit, leaving a 500,000 baht balance. The family then negotiated with Mr. S, who agreed to find a new buyer for just 1 rai of the land for 2.2 million baht. The new buyer paid a 500,000 baht deposit to Mr. S to clear the father's outstanding debt, and a further 1.7 million baht was due to Mr. S by May 21, 2026.
However, after receiving the full amount, Mr. S refused to hand over the family's share after deducting the original 500,000 baht debt. The family filed a police report at Kamphaeng Saen Police Station, leading to a mediation session.
Mr. S, citing his status as a former minister's advisor, promised to pay the family on October 15, 2026, but failed to appear, claiming the family had not fully vacated the land. The family insists they complied with all demands, moving out and demolishing their house. Mr. S also allegedly threatened and intimidated the family multiple times, leaving them fearing they would not receive justice due to his connections.
After hearing their story, Raphi accompanied the girl, who was holding her father's photo, to file a formal complaint at Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police Headquarters, requesting an investigation and justice without interference from influential figures. Raphi noted the handwritten contract contained several irregularities and that the girl's family is not the only one to have fallen victim to similar schemes.
