A 17-year-old grandson has been arrested for fatally stabbing his 67-year-old grandmother in Nakhon Ratchasima after she refused to give him the full amount of money he demanded.
Police in Sung Noen district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, have solved a shocking murder case involving an elderly woman. Officers from Sung Noen Police Station gathered evidence and obtained an arrest warrant from the Juvenile and Family Court for the suspect, a 17-year-old grandson identified as Mr. K. (surname withheld), charging him with intentional murder of a senior relative.
On June 28, officers responded to a report of Khai Tumngam, 67, found bleeding heavily near a water basin at Ban Nong Sad village in Sung Noen district. She was rushed to Sung Noen Hospital but died shortly after. An examination revealed she had suffered multiple stab wounds from a sharp-edged weapon, particularly around the neck and chest, indicating a fatal assault.
Lieutenant Colonel Issara Bunnyaritthi, commander of Sung Noen Police Station, ordered a thorough investigation. Evidence collection revealed signs that someone had attempted to conceal the crime. Through continued investigation, officers linked the case to the victim's grandson. The Juvenile and Family Court approved the arrest warrant.
According to police, the motive stemmed from a violent argument when the suspect asked his grandmother for money but did not receive the full amount he requested. Unable to control his emotions, he committed the killing.
