Thammasat Engineering Faculty Celebrates 30 Years of TEP-TEPE Program
Thammasat University's Faculty of Engineering celebrated the 30th anniversary of its TEP-TEPE program with a conference at Bangkok's Avani Sukhumvit Hotel, featuring academic talks, a Grand Reunion, and messages from overseas partner universities. The event highlighted engineering education, Thailand's industrial and energy policies, and strategies for preparing engineers for an uncertain future. Thammasat University's Faculty of Engineering organized the 'TEP-TEPE CONNECT 30th Anniversary' at the Avani Sukhumvit Hotel in Bangkok to mark three decades of the TEP-TEPE program, linking students, alumni, staff, and overseas partner universities through program briefings, academic forums, and a Grand Reunion. Under the 'TEP-TEPE CONNECT' concept, activities included admissions information, engineering-related sessions, and networking opportunities with current students and graduates, helping prospective learners understand the program and engineering study paths. The program featured a performance titled '30 Years of Engineering Harmony,' followed by welcoming remarks from Faculty Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sanya Mitr-em and an official opening speech by University President Assoc. Prof. Dr. Supasawat Chatchaval. A notable highlight was congratulatory messages from international partner institutions: the University of Nottingham (UK), University of New South Wales (Australia), and KU Leuven (Belgium), reflecting TEP-TEPE's long-standing global academic collaborations. Additionally, a TEP Talk session titled 'Global Mindset Engineers Against an Uncertain World' explored engineers' roles in a changing world, with presentations on 'Engineering Education and Thailand's Future' by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Seujiт Phetprasan from Rangsit University Graduate School, 'New Industrial Policy for Thailand's Economy' by Dr. Noparuj Jintasamabutrione of TDRI, and 'Thailand's Energy Strategic Planning and Sustainability' by Sirichai Jirarangphong from PTT Public Company Limited. The talk also included 'I DON’T KNOW… YET., Preparing for an Unpredictable Future' by Petchporn Cheungwiwatkun, Mrs. Thailand World 2026, edu‑preneur and content creator, discussing readiness for unforeseeable futures. The event concluded with information on TEP-TEPE admissions for 2027 and a Q&A for interested applicants.
