Thai Husband Defends Innocence After DSI Online Gambling Inquiry
Thaiyang Sang and his wife, MP Suchada Sang Thanthap, met with Thailand's Department of Special Investigation to address allegations linking them to an online gambling network through shareholdings. They denied any wrongdoing, accused former politicians of fabricating the claims as a political tactic, and pledged full cooperation with investigators.
Suchada Sang Thanthap said she had already clarified the sale of her 1.47% share and where the money is, noting that she had not yet given a statement but was ready to cooperate, adding that there were many documents related to her husband and she would provide more if needed. When asked about opposition MP Rakchanak Sin Nok, who posted that she had disappeared for three weeks and then returned with a lifeline, Suchada said the claims were not based on genuine investigation but were built from scapegoat information turned into political issues, stressing she had not gone anywhere and her husband remained in Thailand. When asked if she knew Sirichok Sopa, she replied that everyone knows him, suggesting that seeing his name on a phone would make one think it was wallpaper. When asked about her husband’s occupation, Suchada did not respond. When asked whether villagers doubted her explanations about involvement in online gambling, she said she was ready to cooperate with all agencies and had repeated her stance many times.
