Thai Oil Marks 65 Years with 200 Million Baht Medical Equipment Donation
Thai Oil celebrates its 65th anniversary by donating medical equipment worth 200 million baht to 16 state hospitals across all regions of Thailand. The initiative aims to improve healthcare access and treatment capabilities, reflecting the company's long-standing commitment to energy security and social responsibility nationwide.
When discussing national "security," energy often comes to mind as a key mechanism driving the economy, industry, and daily life. However, national security also connects to quality-of-life foundations: health, education, environment, and access to essential services. For 65 years, Thai Oil has fulfilled its role in energy security and economic growth while building community value, emphasizing quality-of-life improvements and opportunities across multiple dimensions.
From business operations to shared social value, over six decades Thai Oil has operated alongside community responsibility, spanning wellness and sports, energy, circular economy and environment, education, and society and culture. Initiatives include public health support, solar panel installations for state hospitals and schools, marine resource conservation, education support, and employee volunteer programs — reflecting a philosophy of sustainable growth for business, community, and society together.
With health as the foundation of quality of life, Thai Oil CEO Pongpanu Amornvivat said: "Over the past 65 years, Thai Oil has aimed to create national energy security, focusing on domestic refined oil production while continuously bearing social responsibility and creating value for Thai society. On our 65th anniversary, we launched the 'Thai Oil Creates Wellness, Donates Medical Equipment for Quality of Life' project, supporting medical equipment for 16 hospitals nationwide worth approximately 200 million baht to enhance treatment efficiency and expand access to quality healthcare across the North, Central, East, Northeast, and South."
"We believe good quality of life is the starting point for national development, and access to efficient public health services is a fundamental factor. We strongly hope this medical equipment will maximize benefits for hospitals and help Thai people access higher-quality healthcare," Pongpanu added.
Because more "equipment" can mean more "opportunities," the support targets 16 state hospitals with high patient volumes or specialized care, selected for readiness to install and utilize equipment effectively. Recipients include the Chiang Mai Neurological Institute, Mahavachiralongkorn Thanyaburi Hospital, Chonburi Hospital, Thanyarak Udon Thani Hospital, and Somdet Phra Yupparaj Chiangwang Hospital in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Equipment ranges from digital X-ray machines and mental health stress assessment systems to dental camera sets, cardiac monitors, blood pressure devices, patient screening robots, and Virtual Reality technology, addressing each hospital's specific service needs.
