Motorcyclist Killed Crashing into Parked Car on Ayutthaya Highway
A 24-year-old woman was killed when her motorcycle crashed into the back of a sedan parked on Highway 32 in Ayutthaya. The driver had stopped for under five minutes after his GPS gave wrong directions. Police are investigating the fatal collision while the victim's family has been notified.
At 7:30 a.m. on October 22, 2026, Pol. Lt. Panya Amatayasen, deputy investigator at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station, was alerted to a fatal rear-end collision on Highway 32 (Asian Highway) outbound at kilometer 23 in Tambon Han Tra, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District. He inspected the scene with Ayutthaya Ruam Jai Rescue volunteers.
They found a black Toyota Vios parked on the left shoulder with heavy rear-end damage and a shattered rear window. Nearby lay a red Honda motorcycle, badly mangled. The rider, identified only as 24-year-old Ms. Panisara from Ang Thong Province, was lying beside the bike wearing a work uniform. She suffered severe head and facial trauma; her helmet was cracked.
The sedan driver, 48-year-old Mr. Nopdon from Nonthaburi, told police he was en route to visit his mother in Ubon Ratchathani with relatives when his GPS misdirected him. He pulled onto the shoulder to reorient himself and had been stopped for under five minutes when the motorcycle struck his car at high speed. He immediately got out and found the rider already dead.
While rescuers worked, the victim's phone rang. Her younger sister was on the line; when a rescuer broke the news, she broke down in tears, leaving everyone at the scene shaken.
Investigators believe the woman had just finished work and was heading back to her lodging when she crashed into the stationary vehicle, though this remains unconfirmed pending further inquiry. Police coordinated with Ayutthaya Ruam Jai Rescue to send the body to the Institute of Forensic Science in Pathum Thani for autopsy. Both vehicles were documented and examined, and the car driver was summoned for additional questioning to establish the exact cause of the crash.
